Ode to the Classic K-Frame Revolver
Ode to the Classic K-Frame Revolver
--------------------------------------------

There was a time the factory still believed
that forged steel should feel the file,
that only the work of skilled craftsmen
should be depended upon.
The K-frame was ideal:
weight enough to tame recoil,
yet reasonable to carry,
unlike the N, whose meaty frame
tortures the man who wears it.
The K was a friend on which you could depend,
carried through bright day or endless night,
crafted from steel, not powdered metal.
The trigger broke like tempered glass.
It did not ask to be admired.
Only to be depended upon.
In rain, in stairwells, in the dark alley,
when needed, it simply fired.
No lawyer’s hole.
Hammer and trigger cut from bar stock—
a promise not poured, but forged.
Men trusted it with more than money.
They trusted it in the worst moment:
the difference between going home
and becoming a story someone else would tell.
A crafted tool that still remembers what it was for.
