One Man's Promise

Will Roman started Chisos for one reason, and it was not to build the finest cowboy boot in the world.

It doesn't matter what he was doing, he would do so in a manner which reflects his values. Those Texas values that are all but forgotten are not forgotten by Will and it just so happens that he makes cowboy boots.

After apprenticing at a small shop of old world craftsmen in Mercedes, Mexico, Will takes hides that most would consider less-than-perfect and treats them like heirloom silver: They are hand-cut, hand-lasted, lemonwood-pegged, steel-shanked, double-stitched.

Will could cut a dozen corners and nobody would know except Will, but he doesn't. Why? Because these boots reflect his character and that is not something to be compromised.

Seemingly from another time, one where where quality endured. Chisos are like a leather-bound Bible whose pages were hand stitched into place, or an old Hamilton wrist watch which still keeps perfect time, just as it did for your granddaddy.

The man who wears Chisos doesn't carry a polymer sidearm that will one day be tossed aside like an old butane lighter but rather a classic revolver of blued steel and walnut.

Chisos are the finest boots made today, maybe ever made, but that was not the goal. They are a rekindling of Texas values.

And as such, wearing Chisos boots reflect your values too.

In a south Texas drawl, they say:

I believe a man should do his best.

I believe that compromise cheapens a man's soul.

I believe a man’s word, his faith, and his values are the measure of a man.

Those are Texas values.

Will's values.

Chisos values.

The quiet kind that shows up early, stays late, and never needs to brag.

The kind of values based on that old covenant.

A covenant that Chisos stitched into leather.
