Top Three Questions When Hiring a Real Estate Agent to List Your Property Hiring and agent can be difficult. After all, most don't know the process and real estate agents are supposed to be the experts. Sadly, few are but it is easy to weed them out with these three questions

1- How Will You Market My Property?

Every agent has access to the same software, databases, e-fliers and apps. Ask them what they will do differently?

(watch out for vague "I use the power of the world wide web" blather. Demand specifics)

2- What is your Listing/Sold price ratio?

The large brokerages teach their agents to overpromise (lie) about the proposed list price so as to get the listing.

Then, your overpriced property, languishes on the market until the price is lowered to where it should have been in the first place. It is a sleazy practice that is, sadly, all too common.

3- Why Do I need You?

With today’s technology, do you need an agent? If they are not going to do anything that you can’t do, how are they earning their commission?
